Welcome

We’re so excited to celebrate Christmas with you. On that first Christmas, an angel announced that the birth of Jesus was good news of great joy for all people. And we believe that, 2000 years later, Christmas is still good news! We hope you have a terrific evening - if you need anything - just ask our friendly volunteers at the information point.

Silent Night

Silent night! Holy night!

All is calm, all is bright

’round yon virgin mother and child!

Holy infant, so tender and mild,

sleep in heavenly peace,

sleep in heavenly peace.

Silent night! Holy night!

Shepherds quake at the sight.

Glories stream from heaven afar,

heav'nly hosts sing, “Alleluia!*

Christ the Savior is born!

Christ the Savior is born!”

Silent night! Holy night!

Son of God, love’s pure light

radiant beams from Thy holy face

with the dawn of redeeming grace,

Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth!

Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth!

Silent night! Holy night!

Wondrous star, lend thy light;

with the angels let us sing

"Alleluia" to our King:

“Christ the Savior is born!

Christ the Savior is born.”

* Alleluia means ‘praise the Lord’

O Come O Come Emmanuel*

O come, O come, Emmanuel,

and ransom captive Israel,

that mourns in lonely exile here,

until the Son of God appear.

Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel

shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, Thou Dayspring, from on high,

and cause Thy light on us to rise!

Disperse the gloomy clouds of night

and death's dark shadows put to flight.

Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel

Shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, our great High Priest and intercede;

Thy sacrifice, our only plea!

The judgement we no longer fear!

Thy precious blood has brought us near!

Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel

Shall come to thee, O Israel.

O Come, Thou King of nations bring

an end to all our suffering.

Bid every pain and sorrow cease,

And reign now as our Prince of Peace!

Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel

Shall come to thee, O Israel.

* Emmanuel is a name for Jesus, meaning ‘God is with us’

The First Noel*

The first Noel the angel did say

was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay,

in fields where they lay keeping their sheep,

on a cold winter’s night that was so deep.

Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel,

born is the King of Israel.

They looked up and saw a star

shining in the east beyond them far;

and to the earth it gave great light,

and so it continued both day and night.

Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel,

born is the King of Israel.

This star drew nigh to the northwest;

o’er Bethlehem it took its rest,

and there it did both stop and stay,

right over the place where Jesus lay.

Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel,

born is the King of Israel.

Then let us all with one accord

sing praises to our heavenly Lord,

that hath made heaven and earth of nought,

and with His blood our life hath bought.

Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel,

born is the King of Israel.

* Noel means ‘a shout of Christmas joy or song’

Hark! The Herald Angels Sing

Hark! the herald angels sing,

"Glory to the newborn King:

peace on earth, and mercy mild,

God and sinners reconciled!"

Joyful, all ye nations, rise,

join the triumph of the skies;

with th'angelic hosts proclaim,

"Christ is born in Bethlehem!"

Hark! the herald angels sing,

"Glory to the newborn King"

Christ, by highest heaven adored,

Christ, the everlasting Lord,

late in time behold him come,

offspring of the Virgin's womb:

veiled in flesh the Godhead see;

hail th'incarnate Deity,

pleased with us in flesh to dwell,

Jesus, our Immanuel.

Hark! the herald angels sing,

"Glory to the newborn King"

Hail the heaven-born Prince of Peace!

Hail the Sun of Righteousness!

Light and life to all he brings,

risen with healing in his wings.

Mild he lays his glory by,

born that we no more may die,

born to raise us from the earth,

born to give us second birth.

O Holy Night

O holy night! the stars are brightly shining;

It is the night of the dear Savior’s birth.

Long lay the world in sin and error pining*,

Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth.

A thrill of hope - the weary world rejoices,

For yonder** breaks a new and glorious morn!

Fall on your knees! O hear the angel voices!

O night divine, O night when Christ was born!

O night divine! O night, O night divine!

Led by the light of faith serenely beaming,

With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand.

So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming,

Here came the Wise Men from Orient land.

The King of kings lay thus in lowly manger,

In all our trials born to be our Friend.

He knows our need - to our weakness is no stranger.

Behold your King, before Him lowly bend!

Behold your King, before Him lowly bend!

Truly He taught us to love one another;

His law is love and His gospel is peace.

Chains shall He break, for the slave is our brother,

And in His name all oppression shall cease.

Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we;

Let all within us praise His holy name.

Christ is the Lord! O praise His name forever!

His pow’r and glory evermore proclaim!

His pow’r and glory evermore proclaim!

* Pining means ‘to wither or waste away from longing or grief’

** Yonder means ‘the far distance’

Jesus Saves

Chorus

Jesus saves Jesus saves

Jesus is the Way

Jesus is the Saviour

You can come to Him today hey

Jesus saves Jesus saves

People from their sin

You will find forgiveness

When you put your trust in Him

Verse 1

The world belongs to God

He spoke and there it was

Though it was very good

It all went bad because

The man that God had made

And the woman there with him

Turned their back on God to get

A deadly taste of sin (But)

Verse 2

Well if you look around

You'll see how sin has spread

Turning light to dark

And living things to dead

But God still rules the world

He always had a plan

To send His Son to save us

In the likeness of a man

Verse 3

Well if you come to God

(You still have time you know)

He'll wash your sinful heart

And make it white as snow

Come taste eternal life

And death will have no sting

All who trust in Jesus are

The children of the King

Joy to the World

Joy to the world, the Lord is come!

Let earth receive her King!

Let every heart prepare Him room,

and heav'n and nature sing,

and heav'n and nature sing,

and heav'n, and heav'n and nature sing.

Joy to the earth, the Savior reigns!

Let men their songs employ,

while fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains

repeat the sounding joy,

repeat the sounding joy,

repeat, repeat the sounding joy.

No more let sins and sorrows grow,

nor thorns infest the ground;

He comes to make His blessings flow

far as the curse is found,

far as the curse is found,

far as, far as the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace,

and makes the nations prove

the glories of His righteousness

and wonders of His love,

and wonders of His love,

and wonders, wonders of His love.

We Wish You a Merry Christmas

We wish you a merry Christmas

We wish you a merry Christmas

We wish you a merry Christmas

And a happy new year

Good tidings we bring to you and your kin

We wish you a merry Christmas

And a happy new year
